It’s not every day that we get excited about a carmaker running a convoy. But then, Lamborghini is not just any other carmaker. The brand goes much beyond that and is, in fact, the byword for speed and drama. Ever since the early 1960s, Lamborghini has been churning out exquisitely crafted, low-slung supercars capable of drawing more crowd than you and I can possibly imagine.

This year, Lamborghini turns 50. Now to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Lamborghini recently kicked off what it dubbed the 50th Anniversary Grand Tour. To mark the occasion, the carmaker organized the largest gathering of its cars ever for a week-long drive across Italy.

The tour itself was quite something, with over 350 Lamborghinis of all time being driven in a convoy from Milan to the company’s base in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Owners of Lamborghini’s super rare models including the 350GT and the outrageous LM 002 SUV came from each corners of the earth to be a part of the grand celebrations.

After driving through the picturesque Rome, Pisa, and Bologna, the convoy ended the grand tour at Lamborghini's headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, where Lamborghini took the wraps off its most outrageous one-off concept yet, the Egoista.

One look at it is all it takes to apprehend the fact that the single-seater Egoista sticks firmly to Lamborghini’s tradition of carrying an otherworldly appearance. With its 5.2-litre V10 engine producing 600PS of power, the Egoista has been designed purely for the sake of driving.

However, Lamborghini’s grand celebrations do not end there. Earlier during the year, the company showcased its fastest and meanest-looking hypercar yet in the form of the Veneno. Based on Lamborghini’s current flagship offering – the Aventador, the Veneno gets the same 6.5-litre fire breathing V12 engine from the Aventador. With just three examples lined up for production, it is highly unlikely that one would ever see a Veneno on the road.
