According to sources, Chevrolet is planning to majorly target customers who more inclined towards driving the SUV on the tarmac instead of those, who have a knack for off-roading. While this surely seems like a justifiable approach, we deny that it is quite a risk considering the fact that competitors like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero all come with a 4WD option. However the Chevrolet Trailblazer does offer features like Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and a water wading capacity of up to 800mm that bring it at par with its competitors if not above.
Some other features include cruise control, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), Panic Brake Assist, Cornering Brake Control, Traction Control, and Dual Airbags. As for comfort features the SUV offers leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with CD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity and much more.
Under the bonnet the Trailblazer will be will be powered by a 2.8-litre Duramax DOHC, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that is capable of churning out 150 PS of maximum power and a striking 500 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by 6-speed manual gearbox along with a segment first 6-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet is likely to price the 2WD Trailblazer in the range of INR 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
