Ford Brazil is flexing its muscles to launch the all-new Ford EcoSport compact SUV in the Brazilian market this saturday, the 14 July 2012, while the company taking the liberty of declaring the launch day as the EcoSport Day.
The Brazilian-spec EcoSport is expected to be accompanied with a price tag of Russian Real 53,490, which translates roughly into Rs 14.60 lakh. The company's official website has also started taking online pre-launch orders for the EcoSport, and the first thousand odd people who register for the model online will be invited at the launch event to seal the booking of their respective EcoSport SUVs this weekend.
The Brazilian-spec EcoSport will be offered in four trim levels, the base variant will be called the EcoSport S, while moving up there will be the EcoSport SE, EcoSport FreeStyle and EcoSport Titanium. The base variant, EcoSport S will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which will come mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission and feature airbags, ABS, etc. The top-end model, EcoSport Titanium could feature a more powerful engine, added features and could also be offered with a dual clutch automatic transmission.
The deliveries of the Ford EcoSport is expected to begin in Brazil in August 2012.

The price tag of the EcoSport of Rs 14.60 lakh for the market in Brazil, seems to be a lot more steep, considering that the model is expected to launch in India at a starting price of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh. However, the factors that have resulted into a higher starting price of the EcoSport ranges from engine options to added features to even tax structure of the Brazilian market.
