Ford made it to the headlines when it introduced the brilliant 1-litre EcoBoost. Now, the 'brilliant' part exists because of its impressive stats on paper and since Ford has taken a bit too long to bring the EcoBoost powered SUV, the Ecosport to the country, we are yet to experience how this turbocharged petrol engine feels like.
As for the engine in question here, the Euro 6-compliant 1.5-litre EcoBoost will power cars like the Mondeo in Europe. With the help of a turbocharger and direct injection, this 1.5-litre engine generates a total of 182PS of power and 240Nm of torque. And while the figures look great, thanks to tech like Twin VCT (variable cam timing in Ford's lingo), it will prove to be quite efficient too.

Both the 1.0-litre and the new 1.5-litre Ecoboost engines will be manufactured at Ford's production facility in Romania.
