This particular model of the Hyundai Elite i20 comes with N Sport package that offers some minor upgrades to the exterior front along with a newly tuned and more powerful engine. The Elite i20 N is powered by a 1.4-liter petrol engine that delivers a striking 115 PS of maximum power and 160Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front wheel.
On the exterior front though, the car looks majorly the same except for some minor cosmetic upgrades. The car comes with a sportier body kit that includes an aggressive front bumper, side skirts, stylish 17-inch Y shaped multi-spoke alloy wheels and new rear bumper. You also get a stainless steel free-flow CAT back exhaust system with a large exhaust tip and N-badges on the front mudguards, fenders and rear Hatchback door.
Additionally the Hyundai Elite i20 N Sport also comes with some mechanical tweaks made to the cars MacPherson struts suspension at the front and the semi-independent setup coupled with torsion beam axle at the rear for sportier performance. The brakes also have been updated with a set of ventilated discs up front and solid discs in the rear with a brand new 4-channel ABS and an EBD system providing extra support to the system.
Following PM Narendra Modi’s Make-in-India campaign, leading automakers have largely invested in increasing the localization content in their cars. Some have even gone ahead and are currently exporting India-made models to overseas market and Hyundai India is one among them. Recently the Korean carmaker launched the new Elite i20 N in South Africa priced at R 235,500, which is equal to INR 11.75 lakh.
Hyundai has shown no plans to launch the car anytime soon in India but as and when it does, the car will pit against the likes of Volkswagen Polo GT along with the upcoming Fiat Abarth Punto and Tata Bolt Sport.
