Bajaj Auto President, Mr. Eric Vas recently revealed during the launch of V15 that the next motorcycle to come from their stables will be a bigger capacity bike. Talking to NDTV Auto he said, “The next motorcycle will be a big bike, bigger than anything currently on offer from Bajaj.” This makes us think that the next bike would probably be either the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 or Pulsar SS400. Knowing that Bajaj Auto launched the RS200 recently in 2015, we expect the Pune-based company to launch the CS400. Bajaj Auto had unveiled the Pulsar CS400 at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept design. With the CS400, Bajaj is trying to enter the sports cruising segment wherein CS stands for ‘Cruiser Sport’. The CS400 is based on the KTM Duke 390 platform and is powered by the same 373cc, single cylinder and liquid cooled engine. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Bajaj has not revealed the power and torque figures yet, but industry speculations suggest a power output of around 40bhp. The Pulsar CS400 concept design showcased at the auto expo featured an LED headlight, all-digital instrument cluster, muscular fuel tank that houses a secondary speedometer, single piece seat, narrow tail section with two piece taillights. The Bike features upside down front forks with single petal disc brake, pressed steel perimeter frame and a cast aluminium swingarm. The features soft compound MRF tyres and gets ABS as standard. The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is expected to be priced between INR 1.6-1.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
