Hero MotoCorp will today raise the curtains of its all-new Xtreme 200S naked motorcycle in India. The much-awaited Hero Xtreme 200S was first showcased in concept form at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. The Xtreme 200S will be positioned below the Hero Karizma ZMR and the Karizma R in the company’s portfolio in India. Various media reports suggest that the bike will be called the Hero Xtreme NXT, however, we would wait untill the company reveals the bike’s actual name for the Indian market. The Hero Xtreme 200S will compete against other motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Yamaha FZ25 till some extent. The bike will get contemporary styling with sporty fuel tank, bikini fairing and a sleek tail section. Also on offer will be wide handlebars, LED taillights and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Hero Xtreme 200S is built on the diamond-type chassis that adds stiffness to the bike. Braking is aided by disc brakes at both the ends, while ABS (Anti braking system) is expected to be optional. Other design highlights include LED pilot lamps above the headlight, body-coloured engine belly cover and a matte black exhaust with silver cover. The Hero Xtreme 200S is powered by a newly developed 200cc four-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that has been tuned to produce 18.6 PS of maximum power at 8500 RPM while developing 17.2 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. This motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is tuned to deliver a mileage in the range of 35-40kmpl. Hero MotoCorp is expected to price the Xtreme 200S in the bracket of INR 85,000 to INR 95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
