200 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800s delivered today
The mega delivery event of the newest small car was held today at Malappuram near Calicut.
The newest small car from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the all-new Alto 800 was sure to be a big hit in the Indian market just like most of Maruti's products in the country. The small car that was launched this week at a starting price of Rs 2.44 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) was reported to have gathered a massive over 10,000 pre launch bookings. And this number – unarguably, we reckon – is only going to scale up much higher, especially in the festive season.
And maintaining the grandness of the new small car, a Maruti Suzuki dealer in Kottakkunnu in Malappuram disctric near Calicut today held a mega delivery event wherein 200 Alto 800s were officially delivered to their respective brand new owners. Honarable Shri PK Kunhalikutty, minister for Industries and Information Technology, Kerala handed over the keys to the new owners.

The mega event is the first in India that saw so many cars being delivered to 200 customers at the same time. Furthermore, the dealer stated that all the 200 customers had booked their cars even before they had seen any images of or read any information about the price of the new small car.

Designed and developed in-house over a period of 4 years, the Alto 800 picks up where the older, iconic Alto left off. Now available in both petrol and CNG versions, the Alto 800 range includes four variants – Standard, LX, LXi and LXi with Airbag. Powering the petrol variant is a 3-cylinder, 800cc F8D unit that produces 50PS of max power and 69Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with cable shift mechanism. The ARAI tested fuel mileage figure stand at 22.7 kmpl for the petrol variant and 30.46 km/kg for the CNG variant. Fuel tank capacity of the Alto 800 is 35 litres.
The Alto 800 starts at Rs 2.44 lakh and stretches all the way up to Rs 3.56 lakh and will be sold alongside the current Alto K10 and the Maruti 800 (only in BSIII markets.)
