The Italian exotic super carmaker, Lamborghini has officially unveiled the one-off Lamborghini Aventador J (pronounced as “Yoh-tah”) at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The images of the new topless baby had been leaked on to the Internet just two days ago and within hours of the images being leaked, Lamborghini had released the official teaser video of the topless Aventador J. The teaser video suggested that the Lamborghini Aventador J is “Unica” that is “only” for English, which meant that only one Aventador J will be rolled out, at least in this lifetime. And an unknown buyer has already bought this one-off Aventador for 2.6 million dollars or Rs 18 crore approximately. The owner will be handed over his precious baby after the Geneva Motor Show concludes.
The Lamborghini Aventador J is based on the standard LP700-4 and houses the same 6.5-litre 700PS V12 engine with a permanent four-wheel drive. Lamborghini claims a top speed of 299kmph. The open-air two seater 'J' has dumped its entire roof and wears a skimpy windscreen to cut down its weight. In place of the windscreen are two-ultra low-profile wind deflectors, requiring both driver and co-driver to don appropriate protection in the form or either a helmet or a pair of exceptionally good goggles. Standing at just 1,110m high, the Aventador J is also the lowest Lamborghini ever produced by the company.
The super car is made of a new carbon fibre composite material called Carbonskin that is softer and more malleable than the traditional carbon fibre, allowing designers to mold the body over the car's components. This is the first time a production car has been fabricated entirely from carbon fibre. The material, which is basically woven carbon fibre, is also used on the interior- including the seats – and Lamborghini says it could be one day be used on high-end clothing.
Lamborghini has ripped off amenities like an audio system and a GPS navigation system from the Aventador J as an additional weight-saving measure.
