2012 Geneva Motor Show - Nissan Hi-Cross concept unveiled

Nissan had released the teaser image and a video of the new Hi-Cross concept last month, giving a glimpse of how the next-generation Nissan X-Trail will be shaped like. Now, Nissan Hi-Cross concept has taken its first public bow at the on-going 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The Nissan Hi-Cross concept previews the design and the power train direction of the next-generation Nissan X-Trail and also of all the future crossovers coming out of Nissan's production line.

The Hi-Cross concept is a three-row, seven-seater hybrid vehicle that is equipped with a 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol engine, an electric motor and a compact lithium-ion battery. The new concept also features continuously variable transmission (CVT.) The crossover concept that seats seven people measures 183 inches long with a wheelbase of 109 inches and a width of 73 inches, making it roughly shorter than the current Nissan Murano.

Nissan had not yet revealed the power, torque or fuel economy figures and haven't confirmed any production plans for the Hi-Cross. But Nissan did state that the “Hi-Cross is a future crossover proposal.”
