Hyundai India has officially launched the much-awaited Elantra at a starting price of Rs 12.51 lakh in an event held this afternoon in New Delhi. The petrol range starts at Rs 12.51 lakh for the base S MT model while the SX MT comes at Rs 13.74 lakh. The top-end SX AT is priced at Rs. 14.74. As for the Diesel variants, the base S MT is priced at Rs 12.91 lakhs, S MT at Rs 13.64 lakhs while the top-end SX MT and SX AT have been priced at Rs 14.85 and Rs 15.85 lakh respectively (all prices ex-showroom, New Delhi.)
Under the hood, there are two engines on offer – the 148PS, 1.8-litre petrol and the turbocharged 128PS, 1.6-litre diesel from the Verna. The petrol-powered Elantra has an ARAI certified fuel economy of 16.3kmpl while the diesel model betters it with a claimed 22.7kmpl. Like every new Hyundai model launched these days, the Elantra comes with an option of both manual and automatic gearbox.
