2013 Geneva Motor Show: Ferrari's flagship hybrid supercar is here!

After months of endless speculations and spy shots, what you see here are the first official images of Ferrari’s all-new hybrid supercar, the ‘LaFerrari’ which is Italian for ‘The Ferrari’. Codenamed the F150, the LaFerrari has been in the making for longer than we’d like to guess, but it’s finally here!

The updated 6.3-litre V12 engine from the front-engined F12 supercar ups the ante underhood, putting out 790PS of power. The redline? An earsplitting 9250rpm! Like the McLaren P1, the LaFerrari is a hybrid, meaning there’s also a 120kw electric motor which gives 160PS of additional punch.

The combined peak output of the V12 engine and the electric motor is rated at well over 950PS, giving the LaFerrari unparalleled levels of performance. While the official performance figures aren’t out yet, Ferrari says their latest creation will hit 100kmph in under 3 seconds, 200kmph in under 7 seconds and 300kmph in just 15 seconds! What makes the LaFerrari even more impressive is the fact that it’s over five seconds quicker than the legendary Enzo around Ferrari’s test track in Fiorano. Like its predecessor, the LaFerrari will be made in limited numbers. 499 units, in fact.

All in all, looks like Ferrari’s latest creation indeed is a massive leap forward from the company’s previous mid-engined hypercar.
