2014 Porsche Panamera launched in India with prices starting at Rs 1.19-crore
The refreshed Panamera will be available in five variants.

The popular four-door sports coupe, the Porsche Panamera, has had quite a good stint in India owing to its practicality. The German sportscar-maker therefore, hasn’t taken long to launch the refreshed Panamera in India after it debuted at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show in April this year.

The updated Panamera wears new bumpers and has revised headlamps and tail lamps. Porsche is also offering the option of all-LED headlights. The bodywork features tighter lines and has a wider rear-windshield and spoiler for a sportier, and lower-slung stance. The revised fascia makes the new Panamera fall in line with the new generation of Porsche design.

Porsche India will offer the updated Panamera in five variants – Panamera Base, Panamera 4, Panamera GTS, Panamera Turbo and the Panamera diesel. The Panamera and Panamera 4 will use a 3.6-litre petrol V6, which produces 314 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The Panamera GTS uses a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 that puts out 446 PS of power and 520 Nm of torque. The range-topping Panamera Turbo makes uses of a 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol that churns out 527 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque! The top grosser for the Panamera however, could be the diesel variant that uses a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel mill that is good for 253 PS of power and 550 Nm of torque. The refreshed Panamera also employs a revised gearbox, a new suspension and steering setup and new tyres that go onto new and lighter 18-inch alloys. Porsche claims that all these enhancements have also helped in getting better fuel economy figures from the line-up.

Standard equipment includes an electric sunroof, Porsche Communication Management plus navigation, a Bose sound system, park assist with reverse camera and air-suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) – the latter is present in all models except in the entry-level V6 petrol variant.

The pricing for the refreshed Porsche Panamera line-up in India is as follows:
Panamera Base – 1.19 crore
Panamera 4 – 1.22 crore
Panamera Diesel – 1.23 crore
Panamera GTS – 1.60 crore
Panamera Turbo – 1.99 crore
(in Rs, ex-showroom New Delhi)
