Talking about styling, the 2016 Cruze features narrow grille that merges into sleek headlamps, wide airdam and stylish fog lamps with chrome surrounds. It features a sloping roofline that gives it a coupe-like profile, while the chrome lined daytime opening and elegant creases adds to its sporty character. At the back, the car gets angular taillights, sculpted boot lid and busy looking rear bumper.
Inside the cabin, the sedan gets newly styled dashboard with piano black finished centre console and MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, leather wrapped multifunctional steering wheel and an instrument console with a color MID.
The company has used aluminium and hot stamped steel, which makes Cruze architecture 27 per cent stiffer than the old car. As standard, the sedan gets ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). Other safety features include Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Forward Collision Alert.
Under the bonnet is an improved 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 153PS of power and 240Nm of torque. It comes with six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The vehicle accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 8 seconds.
The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is expected to enter into the Indian market next year. It will compete against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta.
