The compact SUV was first showcased at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor Show. The new EcoSport facelift gets a host of cosmetic updates along with mechanical changes as the company gets an all-new petrol engine. Moreover, the SUV also gets completely redesigned interiors and an all-black cabin. Priced between INR 7.31 lakh to INR 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom India), the SUV competes against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV300. Coming to the interiors, our vote so far has been with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza because of the sheer up-market feel that its cabin offer. However, with the facelift, things have now started to lean in towards the corner of the Ford EcoSport. The cabin design of the facelift has been completely revamped and now is a whole lot better to look at than the model which is currently on sale in India. 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift Vs Maruti Vitara Brezza – Engine Specifications
Talking about the engine specifications, the Vitara Brezza is available with a single diesel engine whereas the EcoSport is available in both petrol (new Dragon-series engine) and diesel engine options. Talking about the Brezza first, it comes equipped with a 1.3-litre engine which is good for 89Bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant of the Ford EcoSport facelift is powered by a new 1.5-litre Dragon series Ti-VCT unit that produces 120 BHP of power and 150 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre TDCI diesel engine generates 99 BHP of power and 205 Nm of peak torque. Transmission responsibilities are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option on the petrol variant.

Talking about the prices, the Vitara Brezza is currently available at base price of INR 7.24 lakh with the top-end model priced at INR 9.91 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the new Ford EcoSport 2017 is launched at a price of INR 7.31 lakh for the petrol base variant while the top-end petrol automatic is priced at INR 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). The base diesel model is priced at INR 8.02 lakh while the top-end diesel manual variant is priced at INR 10.67 lakh (ex-showroom India).
