Land Rover, a JLR owned automaker has officially unveiled the new Discovery SVX at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. This new addition in the Discovery range comes with a new 2.0-litre petrol motor in S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury models lineup. Bearing SVX moniker, the new 2018 Discovery SVX is basically a production preview of ultimate all-terrain Discovery. The new Discovery SVX will be the foremost Land Rover which will be hand assembled by skilled craftsmen at the SVO Technical Centre when production commences in the year 2018. Adding new wing to company’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) range, the new Discovery SVX will be powered by a 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain. Ever since the introduction of 5th generation Discovery in the year 2016, it has emerged as world’s best full-size SUV which is built on Land Rover’s aluminium architecture making it stronger, safer and lighter. With design excellence and engineering integrity being its core values for every Land Rover, the new Discovery SVX is intended for delivering the ultimate in off-road performance and desirability. Under the hood, the SUV draws its power from Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol motor which is tuned to develop 525PS of max power with peak torque of 625Nm with suspension modifications which enhances the confidence of the driver while taking on the toughest terrains. The new Discovery SVX comes equipped with Hill Descent Control, Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Adaptive Dynamics, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) and variable ratio electric power-assisted steering (EPAS). It also sport a model-first Pistol Shifter instead of the Drive select rotary shifter which offers the driver an optimum control of gear selection during off-roading.
