Hyundai India will be launching the much anticipated fifth generation Hyundai Verna sedan in India today. Likely to be priced at INR 8 lakh (ex-showroom), the next-gen Verna will be based on the all-new K2 platform making its stronger and safer than the current model. The sedan was previously revealed to the media earlier this month and has been spied number of times at the stockyard of the dealership. With bookings already open at INR 25,000, the South Korean automaker is aiming to deliver 10,000 units till Diwali. The new Hyundai Verna 2017 will sport new overall design and stylish interiors along with extensive list of features making it a hefty competition to the segment leader. Coming to the powerhouse options, the new Hyundai Verna 2017 is offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol derivative is powered by a 1.6-litre gamma petrol unit capable of developing 121 bhp and 155Nm of power figures. On the other hand, the diesel version is a 1.6-litre CRDI unit tuned to produce 126 bhp of max power with 260Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with optional 6-speed AT unit. The new Verna sports an appeal design based on company’s popular ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy. It gets cascading chrome grille, new LED headlamps, new fog lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, new tail light and much more. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4405 mm in length, 1729 mm in width and 1469 mm in height along with wheelbase of 2600mm. Inside the cabin, the new Hyundai Verna will sport dual tone scheme featuring black and beige interior proffering a premium look to the cabin. The sedan also gets a 8-inch touch-screen AVN system with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility along with other features like automatic climate control, reverse camera, parking sensors, 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Engine start/stop button and more.
