We informed you earlier that Hyundai Motor India is to introduce the facelift avatar of the Xcent compact sedan in India on the 20th of April this year. Now ahead of its launch, Hyundai dealerships have started taking bookings of the compact sedan at a token amount of INR 10,000.

The 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift will feature updates which are in line with the ones provided to the Hyundai Grand i10 facelift. The exterior is to come with a restyled front-end, the modifications on which include the addition of a new bumper that is to feature LED DRLs on the top end variants.

The side profile will remain identical to the current version of the Xcent. However, there is expected to be a major alteration towards the back of the vehicle. The rear-facia is to get Elite i20 inspired tail-lamps, a small boot-lid mounted spoiler and a completely revised bumper.

The cabin of the 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift is to come with the exact same layout as that of the current gen model. The top-sped versions will however get a new touchscreen multi-media navigation system which comes with goodies like Apple Car Play and Android Auto Connectivity. Talking about the engine specifications, the petrol derivative will continue to feature the same 1.2-litre engine which is capable of churning out 82Bhp along with 113Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. There will also be a 4-speed automatic on offer.

However, the diesel derivative could get a new 1.2-litre CRDi unit which is capable of churning out 73bhp along with 190Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Talking about the prices, the 2017 Hyundai Xcent is to be prices in the bracket of INR 5.5 lakh to 8.0 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, it will continue to compete against the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze among the others.
