Maruti Suzuki has now finally unveiled the 2017 iteration of its popular compact sedan, the Dzire in the Indian car market. The automaker has also revealed almost all of the sedan’s crucial details, going by which it seems that the new-age Dzire is going to be quite an improved product than the previous model, offering a tough competition to its rivals. One of which off course is the Ford Figo Aspire, the American automaker’s first attempt at the sub-compact sedan. 2017 Maruti Dzire Vs Ford Figo Aspire: Price 

When launched on the 16th of May this year, it is expected that the 2017 Maruti Dzire will retail in the price bracket of INR 5.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

2017 Maruti Dzire Vs Ford Figo Aspire: Engine Specifications

The 2017 Maruti Dzire is to come in both petrol as well as diesel engine options. The former is to be a 1.2-litre VVT K-Series motor churning out 82Bhp along with 114nm of peak torque. The later is to get a 1.3-litre DDiS unit capable of producing 74Bhp along with 190Nm of peak torque. There is to be a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while now buyers will also be able to choose from an AGS for either of the engine specs.

The Ford Figo Aspire also is offered in both petrol as well as diesel engine guises. The petrol derivative gets a 1.2-litre motor, along with the choice of a 1.5-litre engine as well. The former is good for 87Bhp along with 112Nm of peak torque while the latter churns out 110Bhp along with 136Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre oil-burner which produces 99Bhp along with 215Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while there is also to be a 6-speed dual-clutch unit on offer with the 1.5-litre petrol trim. 2017 Maruti Dzire Vs Ford Figo Aspire: Dimensions 

Dimensioanaly, the 2017 Maruti Dzire is to measure 3995mm in length, 1515mm in height while the width of the car is to be 1735mm. The Dzire is to come with an increased boot-space of 375-liters.

2017 Maruti Dzire Vs Ford Figo Aspire: Mileage 

The 2017 Maruti Dzire is to come with an increased fuel-efficiency characteristics, thanks to the implementation of the new HEARTECH platform. The current gen’s petrol variant offers 18kmpl with the diesel derivative promising 24kmpl.

Figo Aspire’s 1.2-litre petrol motor promises an efficiency figure of 18.16kmpl, the 1.5-litre petrol promises an efficiency of 17kmpl with the 1.5-litre diesel boasting of 25.83kmpl.

The 2017 Maruti Dzire is to come with features like LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail-lamps, multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, rear air-con vents, day and night IRVMs, electrically adjustable ORVMs, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear seat arm rest with cup-holders to name a few. Now to the Ford Figo Aspire, this sub-compact sedan comes with multinational steering wheel, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, day and night IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear-seat arm rest to name a few. Talking about safety, the Figo Aspire comes with dual air-bags as standard while ABD with EBD are optional, higher variants come with 6-airbags.
