2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Facelift Launched; Price in India Starts at INR 8.49 Lakh

The feature loaded 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift has been launched in India. The car will compete against Renault Captur, Honda BR-V and the Hyundai Creta in India.

After much delay, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the 2017 S-Cross in India. The new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift is priced in India from INR 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base Sigma variant while the top-end Alpha trim level is priced at INR 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings are currently open at Maruti Suzuki NEXA dealerships with a token amount of INR 11,000. That said, deliveries will begin immediately. Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the 1.6-litre DDiS 320 this time around. Instead, the company had equipped the 1.3-litre diesel motor with the popular SHVS mild hybrid system. 2017 maruti suzuki s-cross faceliftAs far as design is concerned, the new 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift  sports a matured stance with SUV-ish looks. The car gets a raised bonnet with redesigned front bumper and a kidney-shaped chrome grille with vertical slots. The car now gets LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the car gets new LED taillights and revised rear bumper. Moving on to the insides, the interior layout remains same. 2017 maruti suzuki s-cross faceliftComing to the features, the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets a 7-inch SmartPlay touch-screen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link, Smartphone integration with Voice Commands, automatic climate control system and engine start/stop button among others. Safety features include, dual-front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ABS with EBD as standard across the range. Under the hood, the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine, paired to an SHVS mild hybrid system. This power-train is capable of producing 89 BHP of maximum power along with a peak torque of 200 Nm. 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross rearThe mild-hybrid power-train makes use of engine start stop function and brake energy regeneration to deliver class leading fuel economy. That said, Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce the in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine along with the 1.5-litre M15A petrol engine and an automatic transmission in the new S-Cross sometime in mid 2018.
