Mercedes-Benz, a luxury German car brand has launched the new 2017 GLA facelift in India today at INR 30.65 lakh (ex-showroom). After launching the Mercedes-AMG G63 ‘Edition 463’ And GLS 63 in India earlier last month, the Stuttgart-based has now introduced the facelift version of its entry level SUV. The updated 2017 GLA sports substantial updates on the exterior as well as interior with number of stylish & luxury features that augments the overall appeal of the SUV. Earlier, revealed at 2017 Detroit Motor Show, the new GLA facelift competes with the new generation BMW X1 and Audi Q3 facelift. On the exterior front, the new GLA comes with new grille design with chain-link chrome elements, full LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, revamped front bumper with fog lamp assembly, wider air-dams, new set of alloy wheels, LED tail lamps on the rear and much more. Adding styling ingredient to the exterior front, the new Mercedes GLA facelift gets the black element on the new outside rear-view mirrors, blacked roof and B-pillar and alloy wheels.
On the inside, the overall appeal of the cabin is enhanced by new cabin upholstery with options of 4 trims. The SUV also gets added features like 8-inch infotainment system as well as little modifications on the instrument cluster. Moreover, the chrome embellishment on the air-conditioning vents, storage compartments, centre console as well as switches gives a remodelled look to the cabin. As far as the features are concerned, the new GLA facelift gets Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, a 360-degree parking camera with a bird’s eye view and electric tailgate with motion detection, 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, keyless entry and much more.
Under the hood, the 2017 Mercedes GLA facelift comes powered by the same set of engines wherein the petrol version sees a 2.0-litre unit that easily produces max power of 181Bhp against the peak torque of 300Nm while the diesel derivative is equipped with a 2.1-litre oil-burner that is tuned for two options- 134Bhp and 168Bhp of max power. The transmission duties are carried out by a 7-speed automatic unit.
Priced in the range of INR 30.65 lakh to INR 36.75 lakh (All prices ex-showroom), the SUV crossover from the stable of Mercedes-Benz India competes with BMW X1 and the Audi Q3 in the entry level compact luxury SUV segment.
