Aston Martin reveals 2014 V12 Vantage S
The V12 Vantage S benefits from up-rated power-train, more performance and less weight.

Aston Martin has officially taken the wraps off the 2014 V12 Vantage S – the fastest road-going Aston Martin yet (after the ridiculously expensive One-77, of course!) The new V12 Vantage S is the final iteration of the V12 Vantage as Aston Martin will soon stop making the sports coupe, four years after it was first unveiled in the year 2009.
The 2014 V12 Vantage S gets its power courtesy of a new ‘AM28’ version of the same 5.9-litre V12 engine that powers the outgoing model. Putting out over 560PS of power, the 2014 V12 Vantage S gains around 50 additional horses over the standard model. The increased power output also means that this new Aston is as potent as the Ferrari 458 Italia in power stakes.

The up-rated V12 comes mated to a paddle-operated, 7-speed automatic gearbox sourced from the V8 Vantage. Here though, the gearbox gets a longer drive ratio to attain higher top speeds. Meanwhile, the option of a manual gearbox can be had only with the standard V12 Vantage.
While Aston Martin confirms a top whack of 205mph, the acceleration figures are yet to be announced. Given that the standard model hits 100kmph in 4.1 seconds, the V12 Vantage S is expected to better it, with a sub-4 second figure.
The 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S comes in a starting price of £138,000 (Rs 1.16 crore when converted to Indian rupee), a good £30,000 less than the competition including the 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C.
