Audi Cars 2015: Audi India to launch five new cars in next five months

Country’s luxury car leader Audi India yesterday launched its new 2015 Audi TT Coupe at INR 60.34 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi & Mumbai). This is the third launch for Audi in 2015 and what’s more is that the German car maker has announced its plans to launch five new cars in next five months. It can be said that Audi plans to do so to fortify its leadership position, which took quite a considerable hit when rival Mercedes-Benz significantly did more sales towards to end of last fiscal. The upcoming five launches will be apart from the recently launched Audi TT and will comprise of both new generation cars and facelifts.

Commenting on these new developments Audi India Head Joe King has said, “We see a huge potential to grow in the Indian market. The GDP is likely to improve as the fundamentals of the Indian economy are strong and softening interest rate will propel demand for the luxury cars.” He said Audi targets double digit growth this fiscal, “aided by new models coming in different body shapes originating from several new segments.”

Audi India hasn't revealed anything on the cars to be launched. If reports are to be believed, the company will release the new generation models of its most popular cars including the new Q3 and the Q7.

Audi Q3 2015: The new generation Audi Q3 2015 will come with cosmetic upgrades to both exteriors and interiors. Adding to it, the company has also updated the powertrain options. The vehicle gets additional comfort, convenience and safety features. It is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre unit that churns out 184PS of power instead of 177PS in previous model. Power is transmitted to front wheels via S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Expected Price: INR 35 lakh to INR 42 lakh

Expected Launch Date: May 2015

Audi S5 Sportback 2015: It is a two door performance oriented version of the A5 luxury sedan and will be slotted under the RS 5 in India. Internationally the Audi S5 coupe is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine with a peak power output of 337PS and maximum torque of 440Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via the company’s quattro all-wheel drive system.

Expected Price: INR 75 lakh to INR 78 lakh

Audi New A6 Facelift: Audi India has already started testing the 2016 A6 sedan on Indian roads, indicating a near launch. The saloon will get changes to both exteriors and interiors. It will get slightly modified fascia with restyled headlamps, air inlets, grille, bumpers, etc. At the back, the sedan has new LED bands on the tail lamps. Inside the cabin, the updated A6 has new trims and seat fabrics, and an updated multi-media infotainment system. Mechanically, the sedan is expected to remain unchanged and will continue to be offered with 2.0L petrol and diesel engine options.

Expected Price: INR 45 lakh to INR 95 lakh

Audi Q7 2015: Based on the new design language, the new Audi Q7 looks sharper and aggressive than previous model. The new model is claimed to be 325kg lighter, which contributes to its performance. As for its power plant, the new 2015 Audi Q7 is likely to be offered in both diesel and petrol variants. The diesel variant sports a 3.0-litre TDI engine, which boosts 32PS of more power, giving you an overall output of 276PS and a peek torque of 600Nm.

Expected Price: INR 70 lakh to INR 85 lakh

Expected Launch Date: November 2015

Audi A3 hatchback: Buoyed by the positive response for A3 sedan, Audi India is now aiming to bring the A3 hatchback in the country. Already on sale in select international markets, the A3 hatch will compete against the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class in India. It will be powered by a 180PS, 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and 142bhp, 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine.

Expected Price: INR 20 lakh

Expected Launch Date: Festive season, 2015
