Audi India likely to equip A3 and A4 with manual transmission
Country’s luxury car leader Audi India is reportedly planning to equip its most popular sedans A3 and A4 with a manual transmission unit. Presently Audi India offers both the sedans comes with automatic transmission like most of its other offerings and believes that introducing a manual variant in India could be profitable.

The German carmaker first introduced the manual transmission in its entry level SUV Q3 and the response it received was tremendous. Just to give you an idea, the demand for the manual Q3 variant is such, that Audi has already exhausted all allocated units for India this year. Apparently Audi expects to replicate this success with the A3 and A4 Sedans. Addition of a manual transmission had also brought down the Q3’s price be nearly INR 3 lakhs.
The Audi A3 is powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI Petrol Engine the produces 182 PS of power and a peek torque of 250 Nm. As for the diesel variant it is powered by 2.0-litre TDI oil burner 144.2 PS of peek power and a peek torque of 320 Nm. As for the A4, it is powered by 1.8-litre petrol unit and 2.0-litre diesel motor, which gives out a power output of 168 PS with peek torque of 320 Nm and 175 PS with a peek torque of 380 Nm respectively. It is likely that both the A3 and A4 sedans will be mated to the same MQ 350 6-speed manual transmission unit that is paired to the Q3.

The Audi A3 and A4 are one of the most popular sedans from the German carmaker's stable, and arming them with manual transmission will surely appeal to the customers who enjoy driving and like the control to be in their own hands.
