Audi victorious at 2013 LeMans 24 Hours
Great results for Toyota, Porsche and OAK Racing.
24-hour races are exciting and Audi being the reason for excitement is nothing new. At the 2013 LeMans 24 Hours, Audi came out victorious with #2 Audi R18 e-tron finishing the grueling race first. The winning team consisted of the now nine time LeMans winner Tom Kristensen, now three time winner Allan McNish and the guy making the #2 qualify faster than anyone else and first time LeMans winner, Loic Duval.

The second position in the LMP1 category went to Toyota #8 TS030 Hybrid, driver team of which included Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson and Stephane Sarrazin. The LMP2 category saw OAK Racing finishing in the lead. The GTE Pro and GTE Am categories were conquered by Porsches after competing with Aston Martin Vantage GTEs. The GTE Am was led by Aston Martin until #95 Aston Martin driver Allan Simonsen's crash took away the driver's life. The GTE Pro lead too was lost as the #99 Aston crashed heavily but fortunately driver Fredric Makowiecki came out unhurt.

Indian racedriver Karun Chandhok too had participated in a Nissan powered LMP2 car. His team Murphy Prototypes finished thirteenth. They started seventh but lost time and had to climb their way back from 52nd position.
Like every other race, this one too will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Allan Simonsen.
