Audi wins 24 Hours of Le Mans, again!
The JRM racing team with Karun Chandhok as one of the drivers, finished a respectable sixth in the legendary endurance event.

In an incident-filled 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Audi broke through again and bagged the title of the first ever team to win the grueling event with a hybrid car. The carmaker claimed top three spots with the R18 e-tron Quattro taking the chequered flag followed by another Audi running on the same hybrid power, while one of the diesel-powered R18 Ultra finishing third.
The race-winning Audi R18 e-tron Quattro, driven by Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer, covered a total of 378 laps of the extremely-challenging 13.7 km-long Circuit de la Sarthe near southwest of Paris. The victory showcases Audi’s sheer dominance over the legendary endurance event as it marks the German carmaker’s eighth win in nine years, with the first victory coming in 2006 with a diesel-powered car.

Making a comeback, Toyotas on the other hand were not as fortunate as one of their cars driven by Anthony Davidson got involved in a massive crash with a slower GTE Am class Ferrari 458 Italia. Unfortunately, the Toyota driver injured his T11 and T12 vertebrates in crash, but will hopeful recover soon. Further into the race, both the Toyota frontrunners pulled out after running for just 11 hours and covering 134 laps, but only after yet another incident with Nissan Deltawing.
Meanwhile, former Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok created history as he became the first Indian to race in the 24 Hours of Le Man by driving for the JRM team which took a respectable sixth spot.
