Joining the EV bandwagon, Renault India has today showcased the Renault Zoe EV and the Zoe e-Sport Concept at the Auto Expo 2018, which is currently underway at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. The electric cars have been put on display at the Renault Pavilion alongside the Renault KWID Superhero Edition. The Renault Zoe all-electric hatchback is currently on sale in Europe and the company also has a sportier Zoe e-Sport Concept. The electric motor on the Renault Zoe is available in two power tunes. The electric motor on the R90 variant produces 91 BHP of maximum power along with a peak torque of 225 Nm. On the Q90 variant, the electric motor is capable of producing a maximum power of 87 BHP while developing a peak torque of 220 Nm. The Z.E. 40 battery pack on the Renault Zoe is available in two different capacities – 41 kWh and 22 kWh. The charging port on the Renault Zoe is housed under the Renault logo on the front grille. The Renault Zoe, with the with the 41 kW battery pack, gets a driving range of 403 km on the R90 variant and 370 km on the Q90 variant under the NEDC driving cycle. On the other hand, the 22kWh battery pack on the Renault Zoe R90 variant provides a driving range of 240 km on a single charge. That said, the company hasn’t revealed whether the Zoe EV will be launched in India. However, Renault India is working on developing a new electric car for India that will be based on the CMF-A platform. This car is highly expected to be the Renault KWID Electric. Coming to the Renault Zoe e-Sport Concept, the electric car is powered by a two electric motors on both the axles that produces 460 BHP of max power and 640 Nm of peak torque at 4300 RPM. The car has a top-speed of 210 Kmph while it can sprint from 0-100 Kmph in 3.2 seconds. The Zoe e-Sport Concept gets the same 40 kW battery from the regular electric car. The Zoe e-Sport Concept makes use of lightweight materials like carbon fibre, yet tips the weighing scales at 1,400kg, including the 450kg battery.
