Toyota, Japanese car maker has officially released a teaser for the new upcoming Toyoto Vios (Yaris Ativ) prior to its India debut at Auto Expo 2018. We previously reported that Toyota Yaris Ativ (Vios) was spotted testing on Indian roads as spy shots emerged on the net signifying that the testing phase has commenced. The India-bound Vios sedan from Toyota will compete in the B-segment sedan space against the leaders like Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. Moreover, the upcoming Toyota Vios technically will be a low-cost budget Yaris Ativ that will find its position in between Etios and Corolla Altis. On the exterior, the new upcoming Toyota Yaris Ativ will sport new projector headlights with integrated LED light guides, LED DRLs, new 16-inch alloy wheels, LED Tail lamps, shark fin antenna and more. Dimension-wise, the new Toyota Yaris Ativ will measure 4425mm in length, 1730mm in width and 1475mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance of the sedan will measure 2550mm and 133mm respectively. Under the hood, the sedan will be offered in both the engine specs as per the market reports. The petrol unit will be a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i motor which will make maximum power of 105 bhp against the peak torque of 140 Nm. However, there is not much detail about the diesel avatar as of now. Transmission duties will be carried out by 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox. The sedan gets a 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i petrol mill tuned for making 86 PS/108 Nm of power figure that is currently on sale in the Thailand market. On the inside, the all-new Toyota Yaris Ativ will carry dual tone interior with all-black dashboard layout which will be complemented by features such as automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera, key-less entry, engine start/stop button, rear armrest, rear AC vents and much more.
Expected to launch in the domestic market by April this year, the new Toyota Yaris Ativ is speculated to be priced in the range of INR 8 lakh to 13 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the sedan will compete against the big players such as Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna.
