The BMW 1-Series is bit of an oddball. The big hatchback is not the brand’s most versatile car and has met with mixed reviews, particularly in the design department. Also, the car is facing some stiff competition from Mercedes’ stunning looking A-Class.
BMW, however, is giving it another go with the facelifted version. One of the prototypes of which has been recently spied. With only the front-end dressed in camouflage, we believe the makeover will be limited to the front bumper and the grille.
The report points out that the camouflaged bits are the most widely criticized elements of the 1-Series and that the prototype gives little clue as to what design upgrades to expect from the upcoming model.
As a reminder, BMW India will soon bring in the 1-Series to India. The carmaker as already launched the official website, besides commencing marketing initiatives. When launched, the new 1-Series will be the smallest and the least expensive BMW on sale in India. Speaking of which, the car will be imported via CKD route and then assembled at BMW’s Chennai facility.
