In terms of design the new Chevrolet Cruze has adapted a sleeker profile a look much sharper than the current generation model. The front fascia is completely new and now sports a redesigned two-piece grille along with sharper set of projector headlamps integrated with DRLs. Further the car also offers a sporty front bumper that comes with a protruding chin and houses the new LED fog lamps accentuated by chrome bordering. The side and rear profile has also been changed and is now more curvaceous than the earlier model.
On feature front the most prominent addition to the car will be the new MyLink Infotainment system the offers a host of connectivity options and an easy-to-use interface. The Cruze will be the first car in India to come with this features and like the American-speck model, it is also expected to sport a 7-inch touch screen unit. The new infotainment system will provides access to features like phone connectivity, radio, audio system, navigation and much more. You also get voice recognition for hands free calling and text messaging alerts by connecting you smartphone with the car’s system.
The all new Cruze sedan will be powered by an improved 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 153PS of power and 240Nm of torque. It comes with six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The vehicle accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 8 seconds.
First launched in October 2009, the Cruze became an instant hit and was one of the most popular D-Segment cars in India. While the car did serve Chevrolet India pretty well, it has now lost its grace over the years and desperately needs an upgrade. And that is apparently what Chevrolet plans bring in with the new Cruze facelift. Upon its launch the car will go up against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen Jetta.
