Unofficial images of the Ferrari 458 Spider convertible sports car leak ahead of its Frankfurt unveiling

Ferrari has always managed to follow up each their flagship sports cars with an equally stunning looking convertible version. The 458 Italia is no exception. What you see here are the unofficial images of the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider which is all set to be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. 

Apart from the absence of a hard-top, very little seems to have changed visually in the new 458 Italia Spider. The humps behind the seats maintain the curves and lines of the original 458. The engine cover however, is solid now and doesn’t reveal the 4.5-litre V8 that powers the car.

We’ll have to wait till September to know the official details on the oily bits and the change in the weight and performance of the 458 Italia Spider, if any.
