Ford has decided on Gujarat as the location for its next facility. The state was selected for its pro-business reputation and the Mundra and Kandla ports which will make it easy to cater to export markets. It will invest USD 1 billion, or Rs 4000 crore in the facility which will begin production in 2014. It will cover 460 acres and employ 5000 vehicles and will have an initial capacity of 240,000 vehicles per annum. This fits in with Ford's target to increase global sales by 50 per cent over the next four years.  Also Read - Vintage car, bike show held in Coimbatore
