Nepal's automotive market is about to get another new product, and much like the Tata Vista D90 that was introduced in Nepal a few days ago, this one's too an exciting automobile. According to a report, Ford is planning to launch the EcoSport in Nepal as soon as the bookings start in India, which is scheduled to happen in June.
GO Ford is Ford's official distributor in Nepal and according to the report, it will be launching the EcoSport to Nepal soon. The dealership will also have a demo vehicle too.
Trim levels are likely to remain the same, starting from the base 'Ambiente', slightly better specced 'Trend' and top of the line Titanium and Titanium Plus variants. The same can also be said about the engine options. The petrol engine options include the 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost and 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated petrol while a 1.5-litre diesel will complete the line-up. Manual gearbox will be available as standard with all the engines but in case you want to get rid of shifting gears, you can buy the EcoSport with an automatic gearbox, only available on the 1.5-litre petrol engined vehicle.
Although Ford is yet to announce the official prices, we doubt if the compact SUV will be sold for cheap in Nepal, given that the residents of Nepal also have to pay a very high import duty on cars. To know what we feel about the EcoSport, read our review here.
