Japanese car maker Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), has revealed its sales report for June 2017. Honda has registered a growth of 12.2 percent in the month of June 2017. The car maker has registered domestic sales of 12,804 units for the month of June 2017 as compared to 11,407 units sold in June 2016. On the other hand, the recently launched Honda City facelift has recorded cumulative sales of 34,125 units for the period from January-June 2017, thereby becoming the bestselling mid-size sedan in its segment in H1 2017. Moreover, the Honda WR-V crossover has been selling in good numbers as the company sold 4,243 units of the car in India in June 2017. On the other hand, the Honda Jazz and Amaze sub-compact sedan have been moderately successful with sales of 1,307 and 1,193 units respectively. Hondas compact SUV, BR-V found 567 takers while the Brio and CR-V accounted for 283 and 24 units respectively. Honda Cars India also managed to export 450 units of its cars in June 2017. Speaking about the companys June 2017 sales numbers, Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, HCIL conducted a price protection in June to those customers who purchase cars before GST roll out in order to counter the sales challenge during pre-GST period. It helped us maintain good sales numbers. We foresee that the GST rollout, good monsoon forecast and upcoming festive season will further improve the buyers sentiment. He further added, The 4th Gen Honda City reached yet another milestone in its successful journey in India, recording cumulative sales of over 2.5 lakh units in June 2017.
