India’s second largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), has today announced a price hike on a selected range of its cars in India. Post the cess hike by the GST Council, Hyundai India has increased prices of its cars by up to 5 percent. Following the GST Cess amendment, prices of the Hyundai Elite i20, new generation Hyundai Verna, Creta, Tucson and Elantra have been increased by up to INR 84,867 depending upon the model and variants. That said, prices of Hyundai’s small cars and compact sedan have remained unchanged. The price hike on the above-mentioned Hyundai cars is in the range of 2 to 5 percent and the prices are effective from 11th September, 2017. All prices are Ex-showroom Delhi. The Hyundai Elite i20 (1.4L petrol AT variant only) has received a price hike of INR 12,547. Prices of the recently launched next gen Hyundai Verna have been increased by up to INR 29,090, while the Hyundai Creta has received a price hike in the range of INR 20,900 to INR 55,375. In the premium segment, the Hyundai Elantra prices are increased in the range of INR 50,312 to INR 75,991 while the Hyundai Tucson has received a price hike in the bracket of INR 64,828 to INR 84,867.
