Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has reduced the prices of its cars in India post GST implementation. The Japanese carmaker has passed on GST benefits to its customers by reducing car prices by up to INR 1.31 lakh, depending upon models. The price cut is with immediate effect in order to help customers enjoy GST benefit. GST is a unified taxation structure under which goods and services attracts uniform taxes depending upon the products. The new GST tax slabs came into effect from the midnight of 1st July 2017. Coming to the prices, Honda Cars India has reduced the price of the Brio hatchback by up to INR 12,279, while the Honda Amaze sub-compact sedans prices are down by up to INR 14,825. On the other hand, prices of the Honda Jazz are slashed by up to INR 10,031, while the Honda WR-V crossover has seen a price reduction of up to INR 10,064. All these revised prices are ex-showroom Delhi and are different from state to state. Hondas bestselling mid-size sedan in India Honda City has received a price cut in the range of INR 16,510 to INR 28,005. The Honda BR-V prices have come down by up to INR 30,387. However, the biggest price cut is being offered to the Honda CR-V as the premium SUV has seen a price reduction of up to INR 1,31,663. That said, Honda Cars India is yet to decide on the Accord Hybrid revised pricing as the car will attract a tax slab of 43 percent. Post GST implementation, popular carmakers in India like Maruti Suzuki, Ford, Toyota, BMW India and Jaguar Land Rover have already started offering price cuts on its range of cars as part of GST benefits.
