We previously reported that Honda Car India globally unveiled the all-new 2018 Honda Amaze compact sedan at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2018. Expected to be launched in the domestic market soon, the new Amaze sub-compact sedan has been listed on the official website ahead of its India launch indicating the arrival is around the corner. The all-new 2nd Generation Amaze will be based on carmaker’s all-new platform which also underpins the Brio hatchback. The main underline of the new Amaze is stylish, bold and powerful design which proffers an attractive appeal on the whole. Upfront, the sedan now carries a new grille design highlighted by rectangular headlights, new bumper, new bonnet, wider air dams, new fog lamp housing and much more. The side profile majorly looks similar to the current version, however, it will now sport 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear section is another highlight of the sedan featuring C-shaped tail lamps, new rear bumper, spoiler, shark fin antenna and more. Under the bonnet, the second generation Honda Amaze will be seen in both petrol and diesel avatars. The petrol engine will be the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol unit which can develop maximum power of 87 bhp of max power with peak torque of 109Nm. The oil burner, on the other hand, will be a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel tuned to make 99bhp and 200Nm of power figures. Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Feature-wise, the new Honda Amaze 2018 will be loaded with dual-tone dashboard with piano-finish detailing, a 7-inch DIGIPAD touchscreen infotainment system, key-less entry, push start-stop button, parking sensors, automatic climate control system, cruise control, 3-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, and rear-view cameras and much more. Once launched, the sedan will take on Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and others in the sub-4m sedan space. Lastly, the new Honda Amaze is expected to get a competitive price tag which could fall in the bracket of INR 6 lakh – INR 9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
