On the eve of the last weekend, Honda Cars India had officially confirmed that the Brio based sedan will be called the Honda Amaze in India. In its original home Thailand though, the sedan will use the word ‘Amaze’ as a suffix to the name that it builds on – the Brio – much like Swift and Swift Dzire.
Speaking of which, the Swift Dzire is the primary target for the Brio Amaze when it comes to India soon. The new teaser reveals a little more detail of the boot than the previous image and the ‘i-VTEC’ badging points towards the petrol engine that powers the car. However, as was revealed to us during the Brio automatic briefing, a diesel version of the Amaze is expected to be available at launch when the sedan reaches the Indian marketplace. An automatic is on the cards too since the Honda Amaze has the Swift Dzire on its radar and because all its needs to do is say ‘please’ to its sibling, the Brio.
