Honda Car India looking to target premium segment rather than mass market: Report

In the days to come, Honda Car India will introduce more products in its premium range and will be focusing less on the budget segments. In the past, the Japanese automaker did try to venture into the latter with cars like the Brio, but did not receive that much of an enthusiastic response from Indian buyers. 
With the launch of the new City 2017 under its belt, Honda is to now introduce more such products which are to be priced in the premium price range. These products are to help the automaker neutralize negative number which the same has been observing from the past 15 months. 

Honda will be making premium, but not luxury cars and is to focus on attracting buyers which are a little different from the ones that opt for the Marutis and Hyundais of today. The company will not only be doing so through their product line-up but also through in terms of the customer experience and services. 

After the City, Honda will be launching the all new crossover, the WR-V in India. Already unveiled for the international markets, the same is to be based on the same chassis as that of Honda Jazz. 

Not only this, under this current strategy, we might also see the arrival of the much sort after Civic brand in India which was discontinued due to lack of sales and a changing industry trend toward the cars of that particular segment.
