We previously reported that Honda Car India has listed new Amaze 2018 and 2018 Civic sedans on the official website ahead of India launch. Moreover, the Japanese car maker has too listed the forthcoming CRV 2018 at the website specifying some highlights and tentative time frame of its arrival. The car maker showcased all the three models at the Auto Expo 2018 earlier this month along with bunch of electric concepts. The fifth generation CR-V is speculated to hit the Indian showrooms during this fiscal year. The overall exterior look of the SUV has been revamped completely which is underlined by new features such as LED headlights, new fog lights, dual tone 18-inch alloys, chrome treatment on the C-pillar, split styled LED tail lights with crystal LED lights and much more. On the dimension front, the new Honda CR-V 2018 is longer, wider and shorter than the outgoing model which measures 4571mm in height, 1885mm in width and 1667mm in height. Feature wise, the latest avatar of Honda CR-V will be loaded with hi-tech features and equipment like TFT LCD instrument panel, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation and compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, 4-way power adjustable front seats, power moon-roof and more.
Mechanically, the new Honda CR-V 2018 will be seen in both petrol and diesel guises wherein the petrol unit will be a 2.4-litre unit while the diesel engine is said to be a 1.6-litre Earth Dreams series motor. The former is tuned to develop 188PS of max power with peak torque of 226Nm whereas the latter is claime to make 160PS of peak power against 350Nm of max torque. Transmission functionalities are likely to be carried out by 6-speed manual gearbox and 9-speed ZF AT unit while All-Wheel Drive (AWD) will also be on offer as an option. As far as the pricing is concerned, the new Honda CR-V will be pricier than its predecessor, however, the company will be aiming to keep the prices pretty competitive considering the amount of competition here. We speculate that the SUV will be slotted in the bracket of INR 25 lakh to INR 30 lakh (Ex-showroom). The current generation CR-V attract buyers with a starting price of around INR 21.5 lakh while the top end model is retailed at INR 26.3 lakh (All Prices Ex-Showroom). Once launched in the country, the new 2018 Honda CR-V will take on the rivals such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, ISUZU MU-X and Skoda Kodiaq.
