After successfully rolling the Next-Gen Verna sedan in Delhi, Hyundai India has now launched the 5th generation avatar in Mumbai at an attractive price point of INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The new Hyundai Verna is built on all-new K2 platform which also underpins new Elantra flaunting Hyundais popular Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy. Moreover, the company has already received 4000 bookings in just 18 days since the pre-booking the commencement. Also, the company is eyeing a target of 4000 to 5000 units each month. The new Verna from the South Korean automaker is offered as a complete package in terms of design, features, safety and comfort making it a hefty competitor against the segment leader – Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Under the bonnet, the new Hyundai Verna 2017 comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines – a 1.6-litre Dual VTVT Petrol and 1.6L U2 CRDi diesel. The petrol engine is tuned to produce 121 bhp and 151Nm of power figures while the oil burner is capable of churning out 126 bhp of max power with peak torque of 260Nm. Transmission functionalities are taken care by in-house developed 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units. Coming to the mileage front, the new Verna is claimed to return mileage of 17.70 kmpl and 15.92 kmpl for petrol manual and petrol automatic versions respectively. On the other hand, the diesel variants can return fuel economy of 24.75 kmpl and 21.02 kmpl for manual and automatic variants respectively.
