Hyundai Motor India launched the next generation Verna in the country in August, and since its launch in India, the Verna has been successfully outperforming its rivals. For the month of October 2017, the new Hyundai Verna has beaten the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City by selling well over 5,000 units to become the bestselling mid-size sedan in India for the second month running. Furthermore, the new Hyundai Verna has received more than 20,000 bookings since launch while the car has generated over 150,000 inquiries in India. Interestingly though, over 20 percent of the total sales of the new Hyundai Verna have come from first time car buyers. Furthermore, over 25 percent of customers of the next-gen Verna have preferred to buy the automatic variant over the manual transmission option in both petrol and diesel engines. Hyundai India has revealed that the success of new Verna has resulted in an increase in average sales to 20,000 units in the mid-size sedan segment, which initially accounted for around 14,000 units. The new Hyundai Verna is Intelligent by Design and comes equipped with a host of advanced features like front ventilated seats, smart sunroof, smart trunk, Eco coating technology and advanced telematics system among others. The new Verna is available with 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engine options while transmission duties are handled by 6-speed manual as well as automatic transmissions.
