We recently received the news of first Jeep Compass being rolled out of Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra. As the launch date of the new Compass nears, more details relating to the much awaited SUV have been revealed through the leaked brochure by the automotive forum Team-BHP.

This points to the fact that in the beginning, Jeep is going to launch the Compass in only diesel powered variant and a 6-speed manual transmission. 2017 Jeep Compass which is set to become the most affordable Jeep in India will be available in a total of three trims- Sport, Longitude and Limited. On top of that, the Limited and Longitude variants will also be available in a choice of an optional sub-trim as well.

Jeep Compass Sport Variant

This base variant will be featuring 16-inch steel wheels (no alloys), all four disc brakes, halogen headlamps, power folding and adjustable ORVMS, electric parking brake, 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, all black interiors, dual frontal airbags, ESC, Traction control, ABS with EBD. The engine options on this one will be the 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel and transmission duties in both will be handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Jeep Compass Longitude variant

The middle trim will be getting swankier 17-inch alloy wheels and the interior colour will also be swapped with beige and black instead of all-black. Other features in this will be front fog lamps, keyless entry, push start-stop button and parking sensors at the back. The Longitude (O) which we mentioned earlier will have additional features like projector headlamps, roof rails, dual-zone climate control, 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Jeep Compass Limited variant

Over the features present on Longitude, ‘Limited’ variant will sport LED taillights, illuminated scuff plate, rear camera, grey leather upholstery, dual front, side and curtain airbags. While the Limited(O) will get HID headlamps and contrast black roof. It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Only Limited/Limited (O) get Jeep Active Drive system as Selec-terrain management option with Sand, Mud and Rock mode. Jeep Compass will be getting the 1.4 litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which churns out 160 bhp with 250 Nm of torque and will be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT but will launch after the diesel engine variants have been launched.
