Jeep India, the iconic American SUV manufacturer’s Indian arm is going to launch it’s cheapest product in our country yet today, the Compass SUV. To be manufactured locally at the Fiat Chrysler’s Ranjangaon plant near Pune, the Jeep Compass is speculated to be priced in the bracket of INR 18 lakh to INR 22 lakh. Manufactured locally with more than 80 percent localization, the Compass SUV is to pitch in the premium compact SUV segment, primarily against the likes of Hyundai Tucson and also later against the Skoda Koraq (next-generation Skoda Yeti). Jeep India has lots of hopes upon the Compass as it’s earlier products, the likes of which include the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited were not able to register a great impact mainly because of their rather steep price tag. Related Story: Jeep Compass 2017 Bags Around 4000 Bookings Ahead of its India Launch; Price in India, Specs, Features
