We previously reported that the upcoming Jeep Compass has been spied ahead of its official launch which is expected to take place sometime in August this year. The forthcoming Jeep Compass which was revealed earlier this year in the month of April is certainly very important product as far as Jeep India is concerned. The premium SUV from the American car maker s stable has been spied couple of times revealing all the essential details regarding exterior and interior. Moving towards the launch, the SUV yet again has been spied while testing on Indian roads under camouflage revealing the interior cabin. As we mentioned that the company officially revealed the Jeep Compass SUV earlier this month, however, the interiors details are yet to be revealed which possibly would be revealed during the launch event. However, Shifting Gears has managed to snap the interiors and variant details as two camouflaged Compass SUVs have been spotted while testing on Indian roads which are expected to be Longitude and Limited variants. Moreover, the company might also introduce a base variant Sport to the line-up alongside Longitude and Limited of which the former will be mid-variant while the latter would be top-of-the-line model. The US-spec model is offered in offered in 4 variants – Sport, Longitude, Latitude and TrailHawk variant and Brazilian-spec model too see 4 variants – Sport, Longitude, Limited and TrailHawk. Going by the spy shots, both the variants are seen with different interiors wherein the top end variant is fitted with an 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system while the mid-variant is equipped with a comparatively smaller screen more like the one seen on Renegade. As far as the powerhouse options are concerned, the upcoming Jeep Compass will be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engine. The petrol unit will come powered by a 1.4-litre petrol which can develop 160 bhp of max power against the peak torque of 260 Nm. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine can produce 170 bhp of max power against the peak torque of 350 Nm. Both the engine will come paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission while the testing mules were mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Expected to be priced pretty competitively, we speculate that the Compass SUV will be priced in the bracket of INR 18 lakh INR 22 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium SUV will compete against the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, Tata Hexa and Hyundai Tucson.
