Jeep forays into the world of hybrid SUVs with the Yuntu
It is not confirmed that if the Yuntu concept is to provide inspiration to Jeep's future global products or will it just remain a model specific to the Chinese markets.
Among the other hybrid and electric cars and SUVs being unveiled at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show was also the Jeep Yuntu concept. To be the American automaker’s first plug-in hybrid SUV, the Yuntu is still an early stage concept and the automaker has not revealed any detailed information regarding the same.
So far, it is believed that the Yuntu has been designed keeping in mind the Chinese market, specifically. However, it looks to be as if other international markets might soon be in line as well. Looking at the Yuntu, one can clearly judge that its exterior profile is that of a Jeep and that it implements a number of cues from the Compass and the Renegade.

The Yuntu’s cabin, must like its exterior is quite extravagant and comes with a rich leather and wood trim. Summing up the over all concept looks are the digital controls and a multitude of displays.
Talking about the engine specifications, no details have been revealed by Jeep. So far what it being speculated is that the Yuntu is going to be a plug-in hybrid SUV, but that the same could also very well be an all-electric vehicle.
