Kidambi Srikanth, the young lad who won the Badminton Australian Open Super Series title this Sunday will now become a proud owner of a brand new Mahindra TUV300. This is thanks to Mr. Anand Mahindra, who is going to personally gift this SUV to the ‘Steamroller’. The announcement was made through Anand Mahindra’s personal Twitter account. Kidambi Srikanth, upon his win in the Super Series title was awarded with INR 5 lakh by the Badminton Association of India (BAI). A twitter user, pleaded Anand Mahindra to ‘do something about it’ as the sum was just not enough, considering the achievement and also comparing it with what our players in the Indian Cricket team get. Upon this, Mr. Anand Mahindra reverted back that he is going to personally hand over a TUV300, the ‘battle tank’ to Kidambi Srikanth himself. The conversation was as follows, upon the win, Anand Mahindra congratulated Kidambi Srikanth through his personal Twitter account by saying “He wins! Now officially STEAMROLLER SRIKANTH!”. To this responded a twitter user by saying Sir, He gets only five lakh

This is the second successive Super Series title won by Kidambi Srikanth and that to in a brilliant way. The Indian shuttler defeated world champion Chen Long by a score of 22-20, 21-16. Not only this, Kidambi Srikanth is amongst the only five players in the world who have successfully reached three consecutive Super Series Titles.
Talking about the SUV, the Mahindra TUV300 is priced at INR 6.90 lakh for the base variant while the top of the line version costs INR 9.60 lakh to own. The TUV300 falls under the compact SUV segment and competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. The Mahindra TUV300 is famous for its tank like exterior profile along with its macho stance, something which Indian SUV buyers always prefers. Mahindra TUV300 is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk80 diesel engine which comes with the automaker’s Micro-Hybrid technology. This engine churns out 84Bhp along with 230Nm of peak torque. Mahindra also offers the TUV300 with the mHawk100 engine which is good for 100Bhp along with 240nm of peak torque. A 5-speed automatic unit is paired to the engines as standard while there is also a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) on offer.
