The full-size 7-seat luxury SUV from Land Rover has been launched at a starting price of INR 71.38 lakh (ex-showroom India) while the top-end variant is priced at INR 1.08 crore (ex-showroom India). Land Rover Discovery 2017 Design Exteriors The design of the new Land Rover Discovery is inspired from the latest generation Evoque, Range Rover and Discovery Sport SUVs. The SUV looses out on the boxy exteriors of the previous generation model and has opted for a more angular and curvy design philosophy. The front section of the SUV sports sleek sweptback LED headlights along with integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs), signature twin slat Land Rover grille while the muscular front bumper houses a lower placed wide air dam and vertical air intakes on either of the bumper. The side profile of the car is similar to the similar to the Discovery Sport but gets a larger rear overhang to complement the third row architecture of the SUV while the car sports inclined roofline. The rear gets an integrated spoiler along with LED taillights and a muscular black plastic cladding on rear bumper that houses the silver skid plates. Land Rover Discovery 2017 Design Interiors Coming on to the insides of the Land Rover Discovery, the SUV gets a completely new cabin layout along with luxurious interiors. The new Discovery gets a mix of black, beige and brown colored interior scheme. The interiors of the SUV seem to be inspired from the Range Rover while the Discovery comes in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The seats can be remotely operated with the help of an exclusive Smartphone App which is part of the Land Rovers InControl touch pro services. On the features front, the new SUV flaunts a 10-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On the audio front, the SUV comes loaded with a 14-speaker Meridian digital surround sound system. Land Rover Discovery 2017 Engine Specifications
The new generation 2017 Land Rover Discovery is available in a choice of diesel and petrol engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 unit that is capable of pumping out 340 PS of maximum power along with 450 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner is powered by a 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine producing 255 BHP of power and 600 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will also get an AWD system.
