Hyundai India has today launched the all-new Hyundai Verna 2017 mid-size sedan in India. The car is priced between INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to INR 12.61 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is available in both petrol and diesel engine options, mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The car is available in a total of 12 variants spread across both the engine and transmission options. Also Available are 7 colour options – Polar White, Sleek Silver, Star Dust, Siena Brown, Flame Orange, Fiery Red and Thunder Black. The new 2017 Hyundai Verna has been launched in India, with a starting price of INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol variant, while the top-end model is priced at INR 12.61 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 12.51 PM: The Hyundai Verna 2017 comes equipped with features like 7-inch touch-screen AVN system with support for MirrorLink, Voice Command, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include automatic climate control, 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, cruise control system, reverse parking camera, parking sensors, engine start/stop button and the list goes on, making the car premium than any other car in the segment.
12.45 PM: The new Hyundai Verna 2017 is available in both petrol as well as diesel engines. The 1.6-litre Gamma petrol motor produces 121 BHP of power and 155 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner gets a 1.6-litre CRDI motor that produces 126 BHP of maximum power while developing 260 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed AT as an option.

The Hyundai Verna 2017 is based on Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy. That said, the new Verna is underpinned by the new K2 platform as compared to the old model. This new platform is introduced after 16 years and has resulted in drastic weight reduction along with increased fuel efficiency. Speaking about the design of new Verna, the car features the new chrome-lined cascading front grille with multiple chrome slats. The grille is accentuated by projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights and a new front bumper. Moving on to the sides, the new Verna sports a coupe like slopping roofline, chrome door handles and new 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Powering the new Hyundai Verna 2017 is a set of two 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.6-litre Gamma petrol motor is capable of churning out 121 BHP of maximum power while developing a peak torque of 155 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT oil burner produces a maximum power of 126 BHP along with a peak torque of 260 Nm. Transmission options on both the engines include a 6-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. This time around, Hyundai Motor India has decided to completely discard the lower powered 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engine options.
