12.55 pm: The new Volvo XC60 SUV is launched in India at a price tag of INR 55.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in 4 colour options – Pine Grey, Crystal White, Black Max and Havana Brown.

12.50 pm: As far as the features are concerned, the new Volvo XC60 gets 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, radar-based safety systems, large animal detection system, Nappa leather upholstery and much more.

Volvo Auto India is all set to launch the much awaited 2018 Volvo S60 SUV in India today. The new 2017 Volvo S60 made its public debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and was brought into production in the month of April in Sweden. Based on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, it platform also underpins Volvo XC90 SUV and S90 sedan. The SUV is expected to be priced at INR 55 lakh and will be assembled at Volvo’s facility in Bengaluru. It will be offered in a single variant – Inscription with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. On the exterior front, the latest version of XC60 SUV will borrow styling cues from its elder sibling – XC90 enhancing the Scandinavian design. The overall appeal of the SUV is accentuated by signature-style multi-slat grille, LED Thor’s Hammer headlamps, a sports front bumper, bigger intakes and air vent, sporty alloys and vertically stacked LED tail lights and much more.

Under the hood, the new avatar of the SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre D5 diesel engine which can develop 235hp of max power and will be mated to a 8-speed automatic unit. The same motor wil also be equipped on the bigger XC90 SUV. It is also believed that the company could introduce 320hp T6 petrol and 407hp T8 Twin-Engine petrol-hybrid iterations in the near future.

On the feature front, the new 2017 XC60 Inscription will bag hi-tech features such as a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, heads-up display and large 19-inch alloy wheels, air suspension, Nappa leather upholstery and more. Once launched, the new 2017 Volvo XC60 will take on other players in the segment like Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace and BMW X3. The SUV is likely to be assembled at Bengaluru plant which will keep the prices down to INR 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
